079-007 Blood sugar response associated with consumption of pu-erh tea

Study Recruitment

NIS Labs is looking for women and men – ages 18-60, BMI 20-30 – to participate in a clinical study.   The study requires each participant to consume 3 different doses of Pu-erh tea or water with a bland meal of soda crackers during separate weekly visits to NIS Labs.

There will be 7 visits to NIS Labs:

  • At visit 1, blood pressure will be measured, an ECG will be performed and a blood draw done to verify fasting blood glucose is between 70 and 125 mg/dL.
  • At visits 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Pu-erh tea or water will be consumed with a bland meal of soda crackers, blood pressure will be measured, a questionnaire completed and blood draws done.
  • At visit 7, blood pressure will be measured and a blood draw performed.

Participants will be compensated for their time.
Participants must reside in Klamath Falls or the surrounding area.

Study Recruitment

NIS Labs is looking for healthy men – ages 25-40, BMI 19-30, who are not regularly exercising – to participate in a clinical study.  The study evaluates the effects of consumption of a nutritional product on sports recovery and inflammation management.

The study requires participants to consume tap water for three weeks and alkaline water for one week.  At the beginning of the study there will be a fitness assessment.  At the end of the second week and at the end of fourth week there will be an exercise challenge.  At the two week and four week visits study participants will:

–         Complete three questionnaires,

–         Have blood pressure recorded,

–         Have six lactate finger-stick readings,

–         Have three blood draws (each blood draw is approximately 2 tablespoons).
